What is ProjectSight?

Trimble’s ProjectSight is a construction project management software solution for budget & cost management, document control and field management designed for contractors. ProjectSight provides an integrated solution specifically designed for the workflows and data sharing between Owners and the Contractors to facilitate the construction of their capital facilities.

ProjectSight clients are contractors who need to unify the field to the office in order to create greater efficiencies that result in successful project delivery.

Overall, compared to its competition (Procore and Autodesk) it is a breath of fresh air. It has a relatively short learning curve when phasing out of those systems. It is user-friendly in terms of visual presentation.

It is very stable and highly optimized (both Desktop and Tablet Platforms) It is updated frequently. The developers have a special Idea Portal in which a User can share their improvements to the system directly with the team. They will also notify the user, if the development team is implementing the idea or not.

Trimble releases helpful videos and discloses release notes for every update. Very passionate people behind a very young but very robust product.

  1. If you are used to using Procore or Plangrid, certain workflows in Project Sight will be different. Ex: For Drawing Management, when uploading a revision, in Procore I could upload a revision to an existing drawing set and it will register that revision without any problems. In Project Sight, each time there is a new revision, you have to create a new drawing set for the system to recognize that one drawing superseded another.
  2. As of this writing there is no scheduling module in which I can use Project Sight to view an MS Project or Primavera P6 Cost Loaded Schedule and in which I can extract specific timelines to be linked into meeting minutes or punchlists (ex: 2 week look ahead being used to keep track of progress and cost impact for a punchlist).

3. As of this writing there is no advanced drawing search.

At the moment, you can search for specific keywords in the Drawings menu, but you will not see these keywords highlighted when you click on the specific drawing nor will you know the amount of instances that specific keyword appears. You’re actually better off using a 3rd Party PDF reader (Bluebeam or PDF XChange are recommended for this) to be able to do this.

If you wish to integrate the ProjectSight Budget Module with an ERP System (ex: Sage 300, Spectrum, CMiC, Acumatica), you will only be able to do that through a 3rd party integrator (ex: Morpheus) which will cost you an extra $15k to $30k/yr (depending on whether you choose 1 way or 2 way communication)

Alternatives Considered: Fieldwire, Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Oracle Aconex, STACK, UDA ConstructionSuite, CMiC, RedTeam and Autodesk Construction Cloud

Reasons for Choosing ProjectSight: My company has not made a decision yet regarding this. But compared to the products listed above and the business model flexibility, this is a top contender in our decision-making process.

Let’s discus top 10 ways to make money through blogging and social media in 2021, which are quite similar to 2020. The highest-paid bloggers and social media marketers don’ focus on just one method and often will combine 5-6 different methods or more to bring home the bacon. So, I also recommend multiple money-earning ways through blogs and social media.

  1. Direct Advertising
Make some cash on Instagram and blogging in 2020 and beyond

The most popular method of making money from a blog is running advertisements in your blog free space. There are various ad networks willing to run ads on your blog for which they pay you for each click or number of people viewing the ad. This has been better in years past but I still bring in a nice check monthly with this and have paid for quite a few nice vacations and a couple of cars through the years through some nice direct advertising. This can bring in cash $$$.$$ when you have the followers.

2. Affiliate Programs

Another very common method to generate blogging income is through affiliate marketing. This has been around since blogging, so we’ve all heard of it. It simply means that you can recommend a company’s product through your blog or social media accounts and generate a potential lead for the company. And each time your users click on unique product links through your blog and/or make a purchase, the affiliate/company pays you a commission $$$. The links are included in the content or banner ads. For social media I don’t like to see this more often than once every 10 posts or so. Don’t overdue it and be honest with your followers. They will appreciate it and appreciate the value you bring.

3. Offer Consulting Services

Today, there’s a big demand for consultants in nearly every niche. If you excel in a particular field, you can easily charge by the hour for the advice you would otherwise give away for free probably. I hint at this in a few of these areas. Consulting is a great way to make money. Make sure you are always professional and be on time and under budget delivering quality on every project. If you can do this you can easily make $80-500 per hour. Top Consultants bring in $200-500 per hour often.

4. Write Sponsored Posts

As your blog grows, you can receive multiple sponsored post requests. When people see your experienced work in a niche, they would happily pay you the demanded rate to get your content on their website. This one gets old for me, but give it a shot. I definitely have cashed in years ago with this, but gave it up.

5. Sell a Product/Service

If you have something interesting to sell, a blog is an effective space to make it an e-commerce platform. Many bloggers use their blogs to sell their products, such as eBooks, virtual courses, images, music, apparels, shoes and more. I think consulting is a great way to go. Reviews are getting bigger by the day as people want an honest review online before buying any product/service. We all know this is true. I am always checking reviews. I want expert opinions of those that have already used the product. Therefore, connecting to the relevant businesses for reviewing their products/services can get you highly paid. This is a fantastic one on Instagram and other social media platforms.

9. Take your expertise offline and consult

You saw how to earn money through blogging online, but that’s not your only option. You can leverage the reputation of your blog and expertise you’ve built to offer other services offline such as taking up projects that clients may offer post seeing your work on your blog. You can display and promote your work on other platforms like Quora and LinkedIn.
