Mint.com is Now Open

Mint.com is now open for business. I was one of the first people to try it out and it is pretty neat. It has some troubles with various banks and credit cards but overall it is a cool program. Fun for sure.
You have to give them all your private info and access to your bank accounts, and credit card accounts. Other than that Mint.com is a fun tool.
They try to sell you on various “money saving ideas”.
Give it a shot if you are not scared about the possibility of losing your private personal information. it is neat how it tracks it etc. It simplifies some tracking. It will also try to tell you how much you spend on gas, groceries, entertainment etc. It isn’t 100% correct but it is ok.
So far i won’t use mint.com very often but it was fun to be a beta tester for mint.com.
I will continue to review mint.com as updates happen. Have you signed up for mint.com? what do you think? What are the pros and cons?

Any idea of how secure it is, or how trustworthy they might be?
Looks neat, but I’m kinda cautious putting out personal info.

I think it is pretty secure but then again people run off with all sorts of info from other websites so why would this be different?
You are taking a chance I feel that it is as protected as anything but the more you use your personal info the sooner it gets taken.

Have you seen our Electric CheckBook entry for RailsRumble07? It was completely designed and built during the 48-hours Rails competition.

Its flexible double-entry ledgers can be shared within a group enabling remote partners, your accountant and spouse can share access to the appropriate accounts without emailing files back and forth.
Mint is obviously a bit more mature, but ours was designed, developed and launched in 48 hours. It has already replaced Quickbooks for our small distributed team and handles our accounting, project budgeting, and contractor timesheets. We’ll continue to add features that we need to manage our personal and business finances.
