Free credit reports are available every year

All citizens of the United States are given their free credit score report every year. The reports come from the three credit reporting bureaus namely: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. In the past, these reports cost almost $10 for a copy. The free copies can be sent online but the process is not automatic. The consumer should file a request first so the free copy can be processed for delivery.
There is a central site where a person can go to file his request. The sole site to visit is the AnnualCreditReport.com, the only one that has been authorized to become the access point for all the free credit score requirements of the public. The quickest way to file is online but phone calls are still very reliable ways to start the process going.
Everyone who has ever filed a mortgage or has ever used his credit card for purchase will certainly have a record on these bureaus. The merchants, sellers, or lending companies that a person has transacted with reports all the credit information about that person to the big three companies for accumulation.
This credit score or the FICO, is usually a three-digit number that gauges how you have performed as a borrower. Late payments or total delinquency lessen the credit points. Take note that the higher your credit score is, the better your chances at landing on a very good loan are.
It is important that every person inspect his free credit score reports very carefully when he gets his copies. Make sure that all payments are updated and things are moving or changing accordingly. If there are any questionable or erroneous information, one should immediately report it to avoid further hassles in the future.

Hey Jake, Thanks for the info. regarding our FICO scores. I believe I got one already this year, but I really don’t remember an itemized list of merchants,or anything like that. I will try to get another report, even if I have to pay $10. it would be worth it to really check it all out. Thanks again
I have had a couple of posts about this same issue. People should check out themselves to know what others may know.
Detect yourself!
Is a FICO score included with the free credit reports? I was under the impression that it is not included.
Credit reports tend to have pieces of information about one’s history that individuals had hoped would have gone unnoticed or would be removed or time. The online credit report services that are mentioned by many tend to be reliable.
