What has Obama Done?
By MoreMerchant on Apr 28, 2008 in Blogging, Misc
Tell me this:
What has Obama done to have earned the right to be President of the USA?
On the other hand…
Please tell me what Clinton has done to deserve to be President of the free world?
For that matter what politician has done anything at all with their own life that has made a difference?

Being a Canadian I am not sure I have a say at all.
My view for any candidate is to have had work hard for what they get.To really have struggled to get where they are today.
Not be born with a Silver Spoon up their *** Oooops was going to type that LOL
Somethimes I believe the average Joe can do a much better job

Look at my blog. Senator Obama shook my hand!!! Yay!!!
Other than the fact that he shook my hand, I am voting for him because he wants CHANGE.
Getting that idiot out of office just isn’t enough. Putting someone with some evident intelligence is icing on the cake!
VOTE OBAMA!

You can find “CHANGE” in the grocery store parking lot.
Obama is where he is because someone felled in love with a speech he gave at the Democratic Convention. As Senator, he got where he was because he was a lawyer, thus had the money and power to be involved in such a position.
Clinton is where she is because she was the wife of former president Bill Clinton. She became a Senator because of the last name, and the fact she had plenty of money to help too.
McCain is where he is because he is a war hero (in the sense that he was in the Navy, and was a POW in Vietnam), as well he had some money due in part of his wife, and we wasn’t doing so bad himself.
So out of the three candidates, Obama is a young lawyer, who has only been a Senator for a couple of years. Clinton is the wife of a former president, thus her position, been a Senator for a few years too, but at least has been somewhat “involved” with politics before. McCain was in the Navy, served in Vietnam where he was also a POW, has been around in politics since Reagan, who was the best president in recent times.
So, it is up to you to decided who you should vote for. To run for such office you have to have money, so stop worrying so much about that. Look at their backgrounds, and where they came from. Looks at what they stand for, and what they promise to do when they are president.
And making a difference is like beauty, it is in the eye of the beholder. Only you can decide if a difference has been made. It just depends on what side you are looking at, and how legible that side is.

I won’t debate the nominee’s there is so much of that to keep us entertained in the media, but I had to laugh on Baracks comment about traveling to all 57 of the states!

Looking back, I’d say Bill Clinton was a pretty sound president and he didn’t have so much experience either. In fact, what kind of experience does make a good president? No matter the answer, I’d reply that it’s a lot of on-the-job training.

While Tom makes a good point that much of the presidency is OJT, that should in no way imply that any old “pretty face” or “great speech” should be the leader of the free world.
A president should have experience in leadership, negotiating, and government. A president should also show evidence of being able to work on a team. The president must understand other cultures, be willing to learn, and stand firm for United States interests above the interest of coalitions like the UN.
Personally, I am not happy with any of the candidates, but a hand shake and a few fluffy speaches about “change” do not assure me that Obama is the right candidate. Examine his proposals for change (suspiciously absent from his speaches but present on his website). This man is NOT good for America.

The guy who’s president now, not only didn’t do much but the businesses he did touch all got worse, and of course when every state was doing a review of DNA eviddence for people on Death Row, he was the only one trying to get as many “processed” as fast as he could before leaving office in Texas.
Nobody is prepared to be president. Period. There is no comparable job except MAYBE having been a VP. But even then you’re not responsible, you just get to shadow the guy who is responsible.
