I installed a Top Commentators plugin today on MoreMerchant.com. So if you comment on this site you will be rewarded with great link love. I have listened to a lot of advice to NOT use it because it could hurt my Google Pagerank.
Well it can hurt my Google Pagerank, but the readers that comment on MoreMerchant are what makes this blog exciting. So to reward you at the risk of losing a Pagerank of 6 or 5, I thank you for commenting on the site.

I love the Top Commentators widget. I use it on my blog as well.
Like you said, there is a point where you have to forget about Google and such, and just do what’s best for your actual readers. I think that the widget really encourages comments, and it’s good to reward to most active.
PS – Yes, I would have said all that whether or not I was in the list.

theres some speculation going around about this before G updates its Algo, anyhow i suggest we as bloggers should help each other and always comment something useful and related.
For blog, I think readers, subscribers, and comments are a lot more important than page rank. Just my 2 cents.
Been researching how blogs work and I am looking for feedback from blogs that have or have had this plugin in the past.
As you dont have it can I ask you why. If I have someone to maintain a blog all day would this addition increase or decrease visitors to our blog.
