Terrorists, Thieves, Gmail, and Paypal
Yesterday was crazy. I had a trip to take down Port Freeport for business. I made a run into work first to check on a few things. While I was there I happened to check my email and couldn’t get into my main account at Gmail.
Weird, I thought but nothing else. So I checked another Gmail account because I had a few seconds while I waited for something to print. I logged in and there was a declined payment from my Paypal account.
I couldn’t remember any payments recently and this one was for $250. Something for $250 should be something I remember. So I logged into my Paypal account and sure enough something was sent from my account to someone in Nigeria. It was rejected and said you must send me $350 GBP which is more than $250. Come to find out it is a lot more. More like $700+. I found this out the hard way. Within 5 minutes of the first payment there was another send from my account in the amount of over $750.
This payment was not rejected. This all happened around 2:45 am. Fortunately for my I logged in early before my trip. I was slow to figure out that they had sabotaged my Gmail account and my my Paypal account.
I could no longer get into my main Gmail account, but worked through it with Gmail forms and actually got back into it. Thanks Gmail, first thing good from Google in long long time.
Now Paypal got right on it and took the money back. It was 2 - 3 hours of pain, but all my money will be credited back to me and I have my Gmail account back.
Now I have about 13,352 passwords for my accounts.
I put Terrorists and Thieves in the exact same category.

Not funny at all. Hope you got your money back.
I never leave that much money in my account anywhere.
That is just nasty.
At first I though you were on my blog cause I used the same image today LOL
Wishing you better luck my friend
It’s great to know that PayPal stood behind you. Did you ever figure out how they got into your accounts? Or did PayPal do any investigating for you?
Thanks for giving us all something to think about……
That was really weird and can get you crazy.
Good, that PayPal credited back the money and Google have your main account back.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
This can also happen to other people making transactions online.
Man, that is just awful glad you got your money back. Good you have posted this to serve as a reminder what cretins are lurking. All the best to you.
