ProBlogger and JohnChow Entrecard Review

Darren Rowse and ProbloggerAlright numerous emails and I suppose I need to let you in on how my Entrecard ads did on Problogger and JohnChow. These are 2 of the most sought after ads on Entrecard. If you were to purchase an ad on either of these it would cost over $1000 a month I do believe.

So I placed on ad on both Problogger and JohnChow. John Chow approved a bit faster than Darren (Problogger). My ad on Problogger ran before John Chow. I was hoping for a nice bump although the bump that was anticipated was more than received.

From Problogger I received 103 clicks and from JohnChow I received 79. If you take the clicks by the amount paid it is not the best purchase for the money. Now I know that Problogger and John Chow readers are great readers to have, so it is hard to place an accurate comparison.

I will say that some of the cheaper Entrecard places to advertise have done much better for me when considering the amount paid per ad. So spend your Entrecard credits wisely. Possibly something a bit less enticing would be credit better spent.

Wow I thought you might see a bit higher results. What did you expect?

Out of it all was it worth it?

Wow, didn’t really expect that! Since I’ve been on Entrecard only a couple of days, I still don’t have experience.

On the other hand, it would be great to know how other advertiser do on that spot, to see if the banner design makes a difference. Since most of problogger’s visitors are not Entrecard users, we could see if other types of banners would receive more or less clicks. I’ll try asking the one who’s right no on Problogger :)

    Anyway thanks for the info!

I would say that for me it was worth it. Just getting the face of MoreMerchant.com out there is worth a lot.

Also I am advertising again on JohnChow in coming days. So that does say something.

Very true, I remember another post where you mentioned that you wanted people to remember your face. Well, I already did, so you had success on me ;)

I really need to join that site don’t I?

  6. Tommy says:

Wow that surprises me. I got 74 just two days ago (yeah on like a Wednesday or Thursday) for a reasonably paultry 106 cost at My World. I see that site is now up to 171 so it’s certainly rising fast, but I’d hardly put it in the same bracket at cow and pb. Interesting. Not sure it means much, but interesting…LOL….Peace…..T

I Find the ones around the 50-150 range are better value than the really big ones. But my best result was only a couple of days ago – 65 clicks for a 2 credit ad! (Just a case of right place, right time … that ad is now up around 270).
