According to the Bellingham Herald the Washington state legislature is considering a bill that would restrict the marketing of credit cards to students at state universities.
Does this seem ethical? Why does it seem that the state legislature thinks they need to control everything? If you are old enough to go to college, old enough to serve in the military, and old enough to drink, you are old enough to say yes or no to credit card offers.
There are some excellent credit card programs for college students. You need to be careful if you have one, but it is not the responsibility of Washington state poiticians to tell who companies can and can not market too.
