Make Money while Moving

Currently I am in Houston relocating while my family is still in Calgary. They will stay there till I am about to close on a house. This is a trying time and a bit lonely but it is a time when we can either spend tons of money or save some.

Being in a hotel I am eating out. If I skip breakfast or grab something of the continental breakfast line at the hotel I save 1 meal a day at about $4 – $5. Then if I am careful at lunch or have the boss take me out I save even more. if I watch what I eat at dinner I can be alright. The temptation is to eat a bit more expensive but with the company paying $25 per day per diem I can make some extra money.

The family back at home will also be tempted to spend more. I am not there so it is a bit easier to eat out than cook something. My wife is busily packing the home and thus cooking is not appealing. yet with some sacrifices we can make money over the next 4 6 weeks as we close on a home.

So take the little chances to save money. I should come out over $400 – $800 a head in this transition time.
