John Chow site Redesign Review

I have been asked to comment on John Chow’s new design. It sure catches your eye, but what catches your eye? All the ads! It is filled with flashy ads. It looks like like the spam train hit it.
John Chow site Redesign Review
The design is catchy, but the ads are overwhelming. Count all the ADS! We all know John revolves around money, but this is over the top with me. I have no doubt people will keep reading and some will take their blogs the way of John Chow, but I hate the over-commercialization. I remember when I was blogging back in 1999 – 2000 and I loved blogs because they weren’t so commercialized.

I know that so much has changed since 2000, and I myself make a ton of money off of my blogs. This design while popping, is just to much for me.

It does look like a spam site.

  2. Lauren says:

That is absolutely terrible. I’m not big on ads but if they are there (I mean all bloggers are trying to make some money, right) then at least try to blend them in. If the ads are done tastefully I am more likely to hang around and click on an ad. I wouldn’t give this site a second glance.

  3. Dave says:

    yeah, way too distracting.

I am sure it will grow on us. One thing is for sure he will cash in.

I liked the site design from the beginning. My site is to make money and this new design allows me to make more.
