How Easy is Blogging? Is blogging worth it? The internet is getting filled with blogs and other websites. Many people are seeing dollar signs, and want in. Blogging is seen as easy money. They see people like Darren Rowse and John Chow and think that it was easy.
Have you been working on making money through blogging or other websites? How have you fared in this quest? You have read all about me but now it is your turn. Is it easy to make money blogging?
This article I wrote awhile back and thought with all the new readers coming to MoreMerchant it was time for a refersher.
So, How Easy is Blogging?
Well I have been on the web for almost a decade. I have put in thousands upon thousands of hours. What have I learned from blogging and how easy it is? Hard work pays off.
I want to impress on you how important hard work is when blogging. If you put in the time, mix in some creativity, and maybe a little luck and you can make it in blogging. Most of all though is not giving up before you have put in the time that is needed.
Ask anyone that has made it. Darren Rowse, John Chow, Dooce, Shoemoney, and others and the internet isn’t free money. It takes time. Effort and hard work can and do pay off, but don’t expect something within a few months.
There is not a quick fix, there isn’t a steroid that you can add to your blog. You can’t be a ground ball hitter and then the next day be cranking homeruns at a monster rate. You build it. It takes time. It takes time to build a blog that has content that is valuable. It takes time to build relationships with your readers.
Have faith in yourself that over time people will keep coming back if you put the time in. I could go on and on and the reason is that I see people everyday give up after a few weeks.
This is easy work, but it takes time.

Great article. Being new to your site I had not read it before. I completely agree. People want to start off blogging and see the returns that the “Pros” see immediately. Its not easy as most things aren’t. It requires a tremendous amount of endurance. Nice to see an article that discusses the realities instead focusing on how much money you can make.
This is a great read, thank you. I agree, it is a lot of hard work to keep up a good blog. Most don’t know that it must be updated as often as possible to keep the attention of your readers. Also, search engines love to see blogs that are updated, interesting and full of content that others will link to.
