Is another lawsuit versus the evil almost Monopoly google possible? It seems that companies such as Text Link Ads (TLA) could have a lawsuit since Google has used Pagerank in a way that could violate many laws that keep large companies from hindering or barring other companies from operating.
Also do blog publishers have a case? I believe they may. Google is also limiting thousands of small blog owners in their business ventures. They are using monopoly type tactics to make sure they are the only people making money on the net. This is illegal, and I believe a good lawyer would jump all over this.
This is one reason why Google revamped their pagerank. they were overzealous when they attacked big name sites. Then the next day they had to revamp because big name companies are more likely to be able to afford a lawsuit and small bloggers can’t. That is why Problogger of B5media and many other big names got their pagerank back while little guys got screwed.
It is all about lawsuits. Are you telling me that sites such as Pagerank don’t sell advertising? Of course Darren does. B5Media does, and all the other sites that got their pagerank back sell links. Text or graphical a link is a link.
The only reason why Google gave pagerank to big name people is only because of fear of the backlash from the public(since big name people can get the word out) and the threat of lawsuits.
I sure hope some lawsuits get filed. I have used Google and made money from Google since 1997. I helped make them what they are. Now they have turned into a company with monopoly type tactics, and this is illegal. Time for someone with resources to do something about it.
Come on TLA, get on with it.

I think this would be a pretty good idea for TLA, and a hit to google. They have to realize that these types of paid ads are important to people making money online, and that adsense just doesn’t cut it for everyone.
I think the way to go is a class action lawsuit. I am no lawyer but to penalize someone from supplying a competitor’s product is against the Trade Practises Act and has severe penalties. Some may also consider it to be anticompetive.
It is scary to think that one company wields so much power over my every day life:
Google know what I look up the net via search and has no policy on how long they will keep this information.
Google knows what feeds I read via reader.
Google reads my email via Gmail.
Google reads my Documents via Google Docs.
Google knows where I will be and when via Calendar.
Google tracks who visits my website and when.
Google handles and distributes my feed via feedburner.
These services only touch the surface of Googles reach. It is a very sad thing that the small bloggers are getting targeted, as they don’t have as great a voice as some of the big name bloggers.
This whole incident has made me rethink the power I allow one Corporation to have over my life.
I would think very hard about joining a class action lawsuit. I think they are definitely holding down other businesses.
It is a terrible practice what they are doing, but they reward the people with big sites so they keep quiet.
Little guys like me try to get press to react but I don’t have the pull.
