A balanced, timely and thorough reference for the Oil & Gas investor.,
I am in the business of Oil & Gas investments and I found this book to be a balanced, timely and thorough reference for anyone interested or thinking of investing in Oil & Gas. Oil is a finite commodity and the demand is expected to grow far beyond the industry’s ability to find and produce, which should make Oil & Gas a desirable investment. Potential Investors need to know the bad as well as the good, the material is easily read and understood and I found Chapters 6 & 7 very helpful. I direct potential investors to this book and provide each of my prospects a copy. It is the best source of readable reference material on the subject of Oil & Gas investing that I have found. I highly recommend.

|Okay read.,
I am an oil and gas investor, and purchased this book to see if it offered something that I did not know. The book was a good introduction, but did not offer any extended knowledge about oil and gas investments. If you are getting started in the oil and gas field, or have any interest, this book is an okay choice.

|Not Much Substance,
This is a fairly basic overview. It could be summarized fairly quickly:
Don’t invest with people who don’t have a good track record.
There are some tax advantages in direct oil & gas investments.
Consult an accountant.
We are going to run out of oil soon.
Outside of this basic information, there wasn’t much substance to this book. It felt like I was getting a sales pitch from an oil & gas investment broker.
Maybe if you are brand new to investing, in general, or you don’t know the difference between the oil in your car and oil from the ground, this book provided such a cursory overview that I wouldn’t recommend investing in oil & gas based on this read alone.
The entire time I was waiting for substance and assumed it must start in the next chapter. It never did.
