Entrecard for New Blogs and Advice

Are you using Entrecard? I have had some moderate success in terms of new visitors from entrecard. Even with this I do not know how long I will be using it. I assume if I stop dropping cards the success of entrecard will drop dramatically. I don’t have time to drop 200 -300 cards a day so I am not sure this is the program for MoreMerchant.com.
I do see a great value in Entrecard. If you are a smaller / new blog Entrecard can be extremely valuable. You can actually get some decent traffic with Entrecard and since most new bloggers give up in the first few weeks due to no to little traffic, Entrecard can be extremely encouraging to the new blogger.
I highly recommend Entrecard if you are starting a new blog. Give it a shot, drop a lot of cards each day, and advertise a bunch. You will get a few hundred visitors a day if you go about it right.

i gave it the boot a while ago, and a lot of people are following suit. It lacks luster.
I’m relatively new to entrecard and the jury is still deliberating. I think you’re right though, it’s probably much more effective for newer blogs and for those who have the time to leave those calling cards all over the community. I do sense some elitism there as well that I could do without, but I suppose that’s someone common everywhere. Peace……..T
No I have not ried it, and the reason is I do not have a nice card to drop. I was thinking of trying it with my new site…www.feedflare.ca but not totaly sure yet. BTW I am always impressed comming to your site it looks great and makes me hate mine more and more. lol
I’m actually trying it on this site and it does ok with bringing me traffic. However, I’m not too sure as to how much they are there to drop their card as much as reading. I hope they read, but I’ve only got one person commenting from it.
Most of the visitors are really there only to drop cards but you could do some manipulating here and there to get them to read your headlines or titles. If they get attracted to it then fine. 1 more reader for you. If you are not running adsense. It is a win-win. In my opinion btw.
I agree entrecard is an excellent tool, but I don’t have the time to drop 300 cards a day. So what I do is drop about 30-50 which only takes a minute, and that’s enough to keep my site moving up. Not dramatically but it’s continual growth and once you reach the top after a couple weeks everybody drops cards on your site anyway. I joined Entrecard after I dropped blogrush. Evil Woobie had a post about it and I thought why not? For me Entrecard is a total failure at its stated purpose of free targeted advertising on major blogs-I have only gotten on two of the Most Popular/Most Recomended blogs. The rest of my ads have been on whatever blogs I could get on. Too many blogs have permenant waits of thirteen days.
But I have found the card dropping a lot of fun, when I have the time to do it. There are so many blogs out there that I would have never thought to look at and now find that I enjoy. Of course, many of these blogs are on Blogcatalog as well, and it is easy enough to wander around from there.
My ads get about thrity hits or so. Do I need to say that I get more than that from Google-and that Google brings people looking for what I have to say and not someplace to drop a card?
The thing that is amazing to me is how many of the big blogs are on Entrecard. I dropped a card on Laughing Squid the other day, for crying out loud.
So for me the traffic is meaningless. They seem to be mostly card droppers anyway. I am not sure how much longer I am going to do entrecard.
I also briefly attracted the attention of a blog troll on entrecard and that has not been fun. Like Beetlejuice this blogger appears like magic when you mention thier name and I regret having done so.

I joined entrecard when it first came out. I have to say - at first I was a little bit not into it. But I foudn that the more I put into the it the more I get out.

I use entrecard, Yet to conclude how good it is. Does give you a bit of traffic but not much
