Debt Consolidation is a program from Hell. Seriously, they give you low payments to start then turn around and ask for a huge lump sum payment about 6 months into it. If we could have afforded we may have continues.

My thoughts are it is a big BS program and the only way out is to go Bankrupt. Which we are in the process of doing.

Of course it all depends on the laws of your state or province and what they deem right is what we have to follow

Can I EVER give you a story on debt consolidation! In a word — DON’T.

The company I got involved in was nothing but a scam from the get-go. They never had any intention of helping me get out of debt. They are now under indictment through the US Government for mail fraud (among other things).

The old adage “if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn’t” holds when it comes to these leeches.

The ONLY way to get out of debt is to establish a budget, contact your debtors and work with them on what you can afford to do, then do it.
