Are you blogging for Christmas? WHAT?! Serious. This year I made a lot of money during the Christmas months and a lot of it was due to good planning in the early part of 2007. Is January to early? If you talk to the high-ups at many of the retail stores they are already looking to Black Friday and Cyber-Monday for 2008.
While I am struggling to blog on MoreMerchant.com I am already planning for Christmas 2008 on other sites. Are you going to make 2008 a record year for your online earnings? Now is the time to start.

I saw a lot of good sales through amazon affiliates during december, but they have dropped off considerably.
It is best to start building content now for a site that you are optimizing for December sales. Having a lot of content updated regularly up until December will help with your search engine rankings.
This is a great point! Not only should you be planning for black friday and Christmas 2008, a smart entrepreneur is mapping out every promotion for the entire year.
I have already begun planning my promotions for all the “big” holidays and even some of the not so big ones(V-Day, Easter, My Birthday, 6 Month Blog Anniversary, etc.)
If you’ve planned what and when you are doing your specific promotions. Now you are sure they will launch on time, and you can concentrate on making sure they are promoted WELL. Instead of making sure it gets done in time.
