This is a continuation of the beginning Bounty Hunter Post.
Today I had the opportunity to work with a Bounty Hunter. This bounty hunter works the Washington – Seattle area and goes out to get info from bad or late debtors on car loans, mortgages, etc. It was an interesting day. It took us all over from Tacoma, Federal Way, to Bremerton and back again.
The job of this particular Bounty Hunter was to locate property or assets, track down the property owners, and serve them with papers notifying them of the situation and asking them to call the bank or credit union. In this field of Bounty hunting it is considered a home run if you can track down the debtor and get them on the phone with the bank. The bounty hunter was not to take sides but to get information, and let the bank handle the rest. It was an exciting day. Most people are willing to talk, seem to be hurting from lay offs, or other problems. Some people would not answer the door, even though we could tell they were there. My recommendation to those of you in this situation is to answer the door. The bounty hunter is not here to do anything but get you in touch with the bank. The bank will be more understandable if you try to communicate, and this person is sent to help make this happen. If the bank wanted, they would have already sent a tow truck to take possession. So if the bounty hunter reports to the bank or credit union that the person was home and would not answer the phone, I am sure this will not help the bank to want to help you. So Answer the Door!
Many times when they would not answer the door, we would see the customer in a window, and even take the papers that we slid in the door. We wouldn’t even be back in the car. People are weird.
Most people that were behind in their payments seemed genuine and did not want to be behind, but due to life it was easier to not pay and eat than pay and not eat. Life decisions…
Life is not always easy. Normally it is hard. If we can try and remember the bank is a business, they already paid for whatever it is that you are behind on. Banks are in it to make money, if you are not paying they are not making money. So we have to understand that. the better you communicate with the banks when you are behind on payments, the better chance you have of keeping whatever it is you have purchased, and also the better chance you have of keeping your credit score up.
The life of a bounty hunter seems like a lot of driving, and not as much fun as one would think. They are not out to get you, but to be a facilitator of the bank and the customer. Bounty Hunting for criminals is much more dangerous than the normal bounty hunting, and also pays well. This type of bank / credit union bad debt bounty hunting is just normal people trying to make a living and help communication along.
I have been offered a job of bounty hunting in the Washington / Oregon / Idaho region. The owner of the company is awesome and sincere. It is a business that must be developed, but I am sure has a lot of potential.
Interested in Bounty Hunting for a living? Contact me, and I will give you info as well as get you in contact with a very reputable bounty hunting / bad debt recover business owner.
Until then, pay your debt so you don’t have to have a bounty on you.
