Alexa or Google Pagerank Which is Better

Is Alexa now more relevant than Google Pagerank?
Alexa made drastic changes and blogs were hit with higher rankings but is the new system fair? I am researching it and MoreMerchant got hit but at first glance I believe Alexa rankings may now be more valuable than the trash Google Pagerank. What do you think?

Personally i must admit that i am more tilted towards Google pagerank. But that is more due to its linkage with the uber Google Search Engine.
Ranking algorithm are codes to segregate a large population of pages based on links. What measures their efficiency is how effectively they can produce result which is close to expected result.
That said i think the changes in Alexa’s algorithm especially the decision of taking inputs apart from their famous toolbar is praise worthy. But let some time pass and then compare. The crowd will speak for itself.

I am not impressed by the change at Alexa. I think it is still not an accurate representation of traffic. I don’t know what the algorithm is, but I know my site will probably have over 50,000 unique visits this month and over 100,000 page views and my Alexa ranking is getting worse.
But, I will wait until a month to see how everything pans out.

Is the PR hanging without an update for months?

@kexbrown
I have got 10000+IP/day, but I rank only 6w @ Alexa
Maybe they have a discrimination on non English sites/blogs?
I never spam, I just work very hard on my blog: developing, updating, optimization … ~

@aw - Yes, my PR is hanging at nothing. Google smacked me because I was selling links on my site. Which is fine, it is their search engine. I have one more client that expires in June, then I will ask for leniency and forgiveness from Google and will be completely nofollow for paid links at that point.

I noticed a bit of an Alexa boost recently…I can’t say pagerank means much of anything unless you’re selling advertising space to people who don’t know any better or you’re selling links.

I find Alexa very nice… I never have found a use for google PR!! Anyway my blog isn’t listed int heir search engine and i have a google pr of 0… So i dont bother

IMHO, neither of them really mean anything unless you can make profits. I’d take a site with a 10% conversion rate and 500 visitors a day compared to a 1% conversion rate and 1000 visitors a day.
Everyone knows PR is a fake number anyway.
Only possible thing I can think PR and Alexa has ANY influence over is newbies who don’t know how to advertise/buy links, AND don’t track it.
