I occasionally will allow a sponsor to advertise to my followers on Twitter. The ads are clearly shown as an ad either by AD: Advertisement, Sponsor, or another similar way.

Here is a quick and dirty review on Sponsored Tweets, a Twitter advertising program. I have tried these with a few accounts, and found that they are pretty decent. They send regular offers to me, and I can accept or decline the offers. If I accept an ad to run on Twitter, I then write a short tweet and submit it. If the advertiser accepts the ad it will then auto post to my Twitter account.

The process is painless. Overall the program seems to work well. They do need to get more advertisers on board because some of the smaller publishers aren’t receiving ads to make money on Twitter. So more advertisers will be better. With time this will happen.

Fresh Content

Lately fresh content on this blog and other blogs is tough to come by. It seems that people are getting tired of blog content. So I have taken some time off of this blog and focused on other areas.

Also I have been transitioning out of the VP/CFO of my Engineering Company into another company that we merged with. So I am moving to Los Angeles as well.

So my posts have been slow. Who knows what is coming. I will see what I can do to get relevant and helpful information up here each week. So stay tuned and if you want to guest post on this site let me know, this will get you some free links on a pretty high traffic blog. Don’t believe me? Just ask Shoemoney. ;)

Market Ramblings and Mind Tidbits

• Have you noticed what has happened to Oil prices since Mid December? They are up, steep.
• Gas prices are beginning to follow and are up almost 20 cents a gallon the past 2 days.

• The Longhorns won in exciting fashion and McCoy did some great things but he needs some more time in college.
• Who is number 1 in College Football? Really?

• Gas is now 9% lower then when George Bush took office. So my friends, stop telling me that he is pocketing billions and he is an oil man, blah blah blah.
• What will oil be when Obama leaves office? I guarantee it won’t be lower then when he began.

• Here in The Woodlands, North Houston the housing marketing is seeing some excitement. It seems people waited till the New Year and the lower mortgage rates to begin buying. Realtor’s phones are ringing!
• 2009 should see less drop in housing numbers and they should stabilize a bit. They won’t recover to what it was like in 2006-2007, but the drop should stop in most areas.

• Another Billionaire committed suicide, maybe money shouldn’t be the only goal. hmmm..
• If I look at your life what would I see as the most important 3 things? Is this what you want to show to your kids?

My Blog Sucks and I Make Money

People are shocked when they find out how much money make from blogging. They are even more shocked when I tell them that my blogs suck! They can’t figure out how I make money with blogs that suck.

If you ever read Darren Rowse’s site Problogger he often details how much bloggers say they make. I will tell you that I don’t make in the top bracket, but I make more money than 80% of bloggers and I do it with some pretty crappy websites.

Imagine what I could do with a network of people behind me like Darren Rowse, John Chow, and Shoemoney! Hmm.. Well over the next few days / weeks I will detail how I do it. How I make some decent change each and every month and have been doing it for over a decade.

I won’t be flashy like the ProBloggers with leagues of people behind them, I won’t detail it out in one fancy post designed to make me a dump of cash, but I will tell you how I do it.

One secret, I don’t make most of my money on MoreMerchant.com. Shhh….
