I started FortheCountry.com as a site to have fun on during this election cycle. It is 2+ days old.
The first day it received 757 visits and 8007 hits. Great for a first day on a new blog. Now most of this is through marketing through Stumbleupon. So you see some value in using Stumble.
It at least makes things a bit exciting off the bat instead of waiting 2 – 3 months to get a steady flow of visitors.
What are some ways you like to use when launching a new blog/website? What seems to work the best? While Stumble traffic is exciting I know that most of it doesn’t stay. So it is fun for a few days, but then it is over.
Is this kind of traffic worth it to you?

Wow, that’s great.
I guess it would be necessary to look deeper into the statistics to see what this traffic is doing. I say any traffic is good as it would impress some advertisers who buy based on page views. As a website owner that would be good because I know that at least I have that audience and then work on finding ways to capture them!
Stumbleupon is good for getting a sudden rush of traffic. So, you can say it cool for a new blog. But, in order to catch the traffic, one must work hard with different techniques!
Thanks.
wow that’s really good. Stumbleupon is really good for a couple days, but it isn’t steady. Unless you can get stumble consistently which is what I try and do.I’m curious though, what’s the difference between visits and hits?
Wow..thats amazing. I guess elections is the niche of the month
Favorited this one, bro.
