Hi,

I’m thinking of either getting loans and mortgages or invest and save to get to what I want. I need a spreadsheet to compare the two scenarios of the two.. Know of one I can download? :-)

Borrowing money to invest is a losing proposition. There are calculators out there that analyze paying off debt or investing, but it usually involves money you have saved. You can use that type of calculator I’m sure, but you’re already starting in the hole. Best case scenario would be a home equity loan for the tax write off. Usually home equity loan must be used for home improvement to claim interest on tax return. Try this site for calculator with spreadsheet.
