Entrecard for New Blogs and Advice

Are you using Entrecard? I have had some moderate success in terms of new visitors from entrecard. Even with this I do not know how long I will be using it. I assume if I stop dropping cards the success of entrecard will drop dramatically. I don’t have time to drop 200 -300 cards a day so I am not sure this is the program for MoreMerchant.com.
I do see a great value in Entrecard. If you are a smaller / new blog Entrecard can be extremely valuable. You can actually get some decent traffic with Entrecard and since most new bloggers give up in the first few weeks due to no to little traffic, Entrecard can be extremely encouraging to the new blogger.
I highly recommend Entrecard if you are starting a new blog. Give it a shot, drop a lot of cards each day, and advertise a bunch. You will get a few hundred visitors a day if you go about it right.

Making more Money Online in 2008

I am having a fantastic start to the new year regarding my online earnings. I am definitely making more than January 2007. I have seen YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network), Google Adsense, TLA, and even Chitika take nice jumps forwards. My private ad deals have also began picking up very nicely!
I hope you are all doing very well also. Last fall I did a little test with Prosper. This is an online lending site. I am also doing very well with that. I am making over 20% interest (average is high due to some high risk loans) on my loans that I have given. I have done 4 loans and none of them have been late. So I am fortunate.
If you need to borrow money Prosper is a good way to do it, It is normally at a lower interest rate than the banks will give you. So, you save money and build your credit. If you have some money to lend and want to make more money than the stock market (even when it is up), then this may be for you. Also now is a good time to give it a try. Prosper is giving out money just for signing up. I also get money for referring you. So why not give it a shot.
Scrapers, Pagerank, and Links

I will give you the quick and dirty on why I have to link various words in my posts on MoreMerchant.com. As the regular readers know from my previous posts I have a few sites that scrape my site. What this means is that they steal whatever I write and post it on their site. Many sites will steal the first few lines and then link to the main post. This is better than some. You see some steal the content (all of it) and don’t link me. They even go a step further and steal the pictures by linking straight to them. Thus they are stealing my content and my bandwidth.
Big deal you say? Yes, I did to until Google then slapped one of my other sites with a Pagerank of 0 after the content was stolen. The site in question made me a nice chunk of money every month. Not huge but made me over $15K a year. Now even after communicating with Google it still has a Pagerank of 0. I spend hundreds if not thousands of hours on this site for a thief to steal my content and Google to take my pagerank.
So now I link various things in my post. This doesn’t stop the scrapers but it gives me some links back. It doesn’t guarantee a Google Ban or a better Pagerank, but it should help.

I have always been resistant to adding things that clutter up my blogs/websites. Recently I added Entrecard so I could give an honest review. What I have noticed is a huge surge in sidebar widgets on blogs. It is really driving me crazy! I hate when I go to a site and see 10,000 different things. It really discredits a site in my eyes. Be careful about what you are presenting to your readers. Present a more professional appearance. This is not accomplished by adding another widget.
Keep it clean. A couple of things you can get by with, but always ask yourself what you can get rid of when adding something. If there is something you can live without, then do. Dump it. Keep it clean. Learn something from Apple and Google. Clean is good. Simple is even better.
