The old rule of thumb was 3 months of your income should be how much you spend on a ring. I think that you and your future spouse should agree that you will show your love in a different way. Show it by saving some money on your ring and giving your marriage a better chance of survival! What an idea. I love you so I am going to put the odds in our favor that our marriage lasts more than 2 – 3 years.
