House Hunting Continues
My house hunting days continued today. It ended around 7:15 tonight with an offer made on a 3200 square foot home with a pool and very large yard. The market has been heating up here in North Houston / Woodlands area the past couple of weeks. Homes got quite a few offers, which made me lose the home I made an offer on over the weekend.

We will see how this one goes. I will keep you update on house hunting.

Currently I am in Houston relocating while my family is still in Calgary. They will stay there till I am about to close on a house. This is a trying time and a bit lonely but it is a time when we can either spend tons of money or save some.

Being in a hotel I am eating out. If I skip breakfast or grab something of the continental breakfast line at the hotel I save 1 meal a day at about $4 - $5. Then if I am careful at lunch or have the boss take me out I save even more. if I watch what I eat at dinner I can be alright. The temptation is to eat a bit more expensive but with the company paying $25 per day per diem I can make some extra money.

There are some great money savings tips. Such as a game night at home instead of going out. the final tip was shading your air conditioner. They say this can save you hundreds per year. I see so many air conditioners out in the hot heat and always wondered. Well here you go, you can save big by planting a few trees around your air conditioner. Plus it will look better.
